We are able to meet 65% of heat demand via heat recovery.

Equivalent to a year's energy consumption for 1,700 households.

Reconfigured cooling processes that use only 100% natural gases.

Integration of sustainable materials management
Use of eco-friendly packaging solutions and integration of sorting and recycling procedures to reduce waste production in our day-to-day operations.
Our circular approach
For us, sustainability means more than just saving energy – we embrace a circular approach to food production. Our veal production farms mainly work with animals from dairy farms, making optimal use of residual flows from the food industry as high-quality animal feed. This allows us to reduce waste, thereby contributing to a more sustainable food supply chain.

At Vanlommel, we always make sure we meet animal welfare standards, caring for our animals in a responsible and ethical manner, implementing ongoing monitoring and evaluation to achieve this.

Our facilities are under 24/7 camera surveillance, reviewed weekly by an independent professor.

Weekly inspections by independent experts
The professor also carries out weekly inspections, drawing on their expertise to help improve our practices.

Training and awareness raising for employees
We are committed to providing ongoing education and training to keep our team up to date with the latest insights in animal welfare. Our employees are trained in safe and animal-friendly treatment methods, with care and respect at the heart of everything we do.

Checks by official bodies
In addition to internal controls, we invite the Belgian authorities to carry out daily animal welfare inspections, providing a thorough review of our procedures.
